Daniel Chavez hails from Peru and has cooked in kitchens all over the world. From Peru to Florida, then to Spain, where Daniel trained at one Michelin star La Sucursal in Valencia, then joined the team of Santi Santamaria at three Michelin star Can Fabes for two years. Daniel moved to Singapore for the first time to work at Les Amis under Gunther Hubrechsen, then to Dubai to head Ossiano at the Palm Jumeriah, which was rated by Conde Nast Traveller as one of the top 50 tables in the world. Returning to Singapore in 2010, he became the executive chef at the exclusive Santi at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. In 2012 Daniel finally opened his own restaurant, OLA Cocina del Mar, to great success in the Marina Bay Financial Centre, focusing on bringing the best seasonal produce cooked by traditional methods and a relaxed dining atmosphere to his guests.
